- WEEK – 1
- In this lecture I learnt how to express through just dots and lines.
- We were given 5 topics : My happy place, Looking out of the window, My best friend, My early morning mood and Highlights of school.
- Then we were asked to make 5 examples for each topic in a 4″ x 4″ box.
- Different intangible emotions were expressed through dots and lines of different sizes.
- Through this process I learnt the importance and power of minimalism and various ways of interpretation.
- WEEK – 2
- In this lecture I made 3D representation of the 2D designs I made in the last class.
- The base of the 3D model had to be 4″x 4″ and made using paper.
- This helped me understand the different ways to maneuver paper and make interesting models.
- WEEK – 3
- I continued with my paper models in this class.
- I found this exercise to be very interesting and enjoyed making these models.

- WEEK – 4
- This week we presented our 3D models of paper for the dots and lines concept.
- We were then asked to write 10 metaphors about ourselves.
- This was quite an interesting exercise that also proved to be insightful.
- I came up with 10 metaphors, some of which are:
* Tanvi is a sunny day on a quite beach.
* Tanvi is sometimes a balloon without air.
* Tanvi is an arrow.
- WEEK – 5
- This week I presented my metaphors to ma’am and got hem approved.
- I then started to represent them through dots and lines using black ink so as to indicate the negative space.
- This representation had to be abstract and not literal.
- This helped me understand the concept of being abstract and develop my creative thinking.
- It also taught me the importance of negative space.
- WEEK – 6
- This week, I made models out of brown file card paper.
- I turned the metaphors into models with the help of the black and white illustrations I made last class.
- I made models for each metaphor in a 4”x 4” square.
- I used various textures and techniques to make my models.

- WEEK – 7
- This class, I took all my separate models and had to join them to make a single model.
- This model is supposed to depict who I am. It is supposed to describe me.
- I worked on it for the entire class, trying to figure out different ways to put them together.
- I finally came up with a way to arrange them.
- WEEK – 8
- This week I got my model reviewed.
- My model depicted how I am a private person.
- It shows how people see only some of my qualities but see the others only when they get to know me better over the years.
- I have put walls up so as to protect myself and they only come down over a period of time.

- WEEK – 9
- This week we were divided into groups of 6 for our next project.
- We were then told about out visit to Bhau daji lad museum.
- I then listed down various aspects of a city of my choice – Paris.
- I listed the cliche, personal and unique aspects about Paris.
- We visited the museum on 23rd of September where we were shown a presentation about the city of mumbai.
- Having done some research on mumbai previously, I had quite a lot of information about it already but this presentation was very informative.
- I then had a look at the various beautiful things in and around the museum.
- This museum depicts the diversity of mumbai very beautifully.

- WEEK – 10
- This week we listed down the various famous areas and places in mumbai.
- We were then asked to choose a location for our site visit.
- We chose the crawford market for our site visit.
- Crawford market is a vast market with a variety of goods and that’s why we chose it.
- The area around the market is also quite interesting to explore.
- WEEK – 11
- In this week’s c;ass, we went on our field visit.
- We decided to first go to CSMT station and from there walk to the crawford market.
- On our way we saw various schools, architecturally beautiful buildings and shops.
- Inside the market we came across various shops and vendors. We found shops of lights, stationary, fake flowers, textiles, jewellery, fruits and vegetables.
- The market was very vast and took us a long time to discover.

- WEEK – 12
- On our site visit, we clicked a lot of pictures of the places we explored. The market, J J school of arts, All India Haj building and some schools.
- This week we drew the 3 point perspective and 4 point perspective drawings of the pictures we had taken.
- This helped me understand the structures better.

- WEEK – 13
- We were then asked to map the area.
- All of us made separate maps of the location by selecting different parts of that area.
- I chose the area of the market where the jewellery shops were located.
- This helped me understand the area better and also introduced me to the basics of cartography.

- WEEK – 14
- This week we started working on the designs for our model.
- We all came up with various versions of what we wanted our model to look like and finally decided upon one of these designs.
- In our model, we included various elements that represented things we saw in and around the market. Things like stationary shops, architecture, shops for fake flowers, fruits and vegetable vendors, jewellery shops and lights and hardware shops.
- I then drew the final version of what the model would be.

- WEEK – 15
- This week we completed all the elements for our model and started putting them together.
- It was a very chaotic yet confidence building process. We came across a ton of hurdles but found ways to either overcome them or find alternatives.
- I was quite happy with the final model. We were able to make the model exactly as per our final sketch which ma’am had approved.
